Get to know me
Hello, my name is Sarah Woodcock, I am a tutor, a qualified QTS teacher and a specialist dyslexia assessor and teacher. I particularly specialise in children who have additional learning needs. During 16 years working in education, my love for teaching just keeps growing and growing! Every day I strive to re-engage children in learning, enabling them to reach their full potential, no matter what their ability

I worked as a teaching assistant for 9 years in a mainstream school before becoming a classroom teacher. As my love for teaching grew, I started to broaden my horizons and became a tutor. I work with children who have particular difficulties and obstacles to overcome, from Global Development Delay and speech and language, to hearing impairments, or children who just find some subjects a little trickier. I have skills and experience that support children with ASC, selective mutism, anxiety, dyslexia, and SEN students. Working with so many different abilities enables me to tailor my tutoring to suit the children's needs, adapting as necessary.

What I Offer
Overcome Learning Challenges
Empowering students
Gain Academic Confidence
Sarah has been teaching my son, with autism and ADHD for the past 2 years. She has a great understanding of SEN and she has not only helped my son with maths, but has helped and supported me.
- JR
Sarah is amazing! She has been tutoring my 8 year old daughter for the last 2 years and my daughters maths has really improved! Sarah always made the sessions fun and interactive and my daughter would look forward to the next session.
- CW
Sarah makes the lessons fun and interesting and I feel relaxed in them! When I get stuck, she always breaks the question into smaller bits, and this helps me to understand the work. She is patient when I need time to think.

Dyslexia Assessments
I offer full diagnostic assessments for dyslexia. These can be carried out in the student’s own home, or in school subject to the school’s permission. After your booking has been made and a date booked, I will require a deposit; once paid you will receive all important documentation regarding the assessment, which will include forms for all parties to complete.
